Wikis

Published by under how to,website

Year Six are learning about wikis and collaborating on a project.

They are going to be making their own wiki – it is still in its early stages and not yet ready to face the world, but watch this space and you will see it soon.

I have set up a new page with how-to’s especially to help them when they are working at home.

Education City

Published by under Uncategorized

I have been asked if children can have Education City at home by Iqra, there will be a letter coming home to all of you very soon. At the moment we have paid for Education City to be used in school but our license does not cover children using it at home, however I have agreed with Education City that if children pay £2 per year, they can have their own login and be able to play the games and tests and  save their scores. This is a really good deal because if you wanted to subscribe to Education as a family it would cost £29.95 each. The letter with the form should be coming out next week.

I wonder how many children will want it.

j2e

j2e
We have started using j2e – a web based desktop publishing program.
Now everyone can work on things in school and work on the same piece of work at home or in the library, in fact anytime, anywhere there is internet access.

Now pupils will be able to collaborate with their friends and share their work with family and friends far away.

Everyone is still learning how to use this so there is a new page on this blog just for questions about it and how to do things.

So if you have any questions, have a look there and you might just find the answers.
